The Scorpions – “Tease Me, Please Me” Live Wacken Open Air 2006

The Scorpions formed in 1965 in Germany, Rudolph Schenker started this little band, and after a few key member changes the band landed a deal and released their first album, the very unique Lonesome Crow.  As their sound evolved over the next few albums the sound that we know as the Scorpions today, and then they finally broke through in the US in 1979 with the Lovedrive release.

In 1989 they released the album Crazy World, and conquered the then uncharted territory of Russia, and headlined the Moscow Music Peace Festival.  They continued to make albums and tour up until this past year when the band decided it was time to retire.  The Scorpions were always one of my favorite live bands that I ever had the chance to see, and I didn’t get to see them until the late 90’s.

They have 40 years of incredible songs, all of which you should take the time to explore a bit.  It is sad that they have stepped out of the limelight, and I hope they receive the recognition that they deserve as one of the greatest rock acts of all time.
