Episode 59 – Summer Tour Special

So here we are, end of July already, and the summer tour season is in full swing.  Lots of our heroes are out there on the road right now putting on some great shows, and its time for you to go out and have some fun!

This weeks episode is all about some of the bands that are out on the road this year supporting new records, or just because they know that you need some entertainment.  It makes me happy to see bands new and old pouring themselves into their stage performance.  So this week will highlight some of those acts that you should feel good about spending your hard earned money to go and see.

Hour 1 – Def Leppard opens the show with a block of classics, followed by their tour partner Kiss.  These guys have teamed up for a great summer tour, one that will not disappoint.  I just saw the show in Tampa, and they both sounded great, and put on a terrific show.  Well worth it.  The Rival Sons and Monster Truck fill out the hour, two newer bands that you must go and see to really believe, and the best part is that they will be teaming up for a tour of the US in September.

Hour 2 – Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators starts us off, they are out supporting their new album, which hits the shelves in September, and they are on the road with Aerosmith right up until then.  That is a great pairing!  If you are lucky enough to catch any of this tour, do it!  The Conspirators are one of the best live bands on earth, and Aerosmith always knows how to entertain.  Tesla is out supporting their new release SIMPLICITY, and these guys are workhorses.  They tour until they have been everywhere that they can go, and their live shows are spectacular.  And to cap the show off, I play a track from the Scorpions who have announced that they won’t be retiring after all.  One of the great live rock bands of all time.
