Episode 13 – When The World Looks Bad, She’s Never Sad

Here we are, Episode Lucky 13!  Already a week into August, and we have lots of cool new music for you this week.  Classic Rock Magazine helped out in a big way this week.  Their new issue features Black Sabbath on the cover, and the sampler that comes with it is chuck full of great new bands, some of them don’t even have albums out yet, just a few singles.  I dig into that group of bands this week, and much much more.

Hour 1 – We start in grand fashion with a classic from the Cult “Wild Flower” from their Electric album, followed by a track from Kiss’ Dressed To Kill.  We have new music from The Pat Travers Band, he has a new CD out called CAN DO, as well as a new live album, Pat has found his 70’s roots again, and this new CD shows just how strong he still is. We wrap the hour with Whitesnake, and the 1980 live version of “Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City”.

Hour 2 – Lots of new music in this hour from Voodoo Six, Todd Kerns, Kadavar, Love And A .38, and StoneRider!  I go in to the lost classics for tracks from Vandenberg, The James Gang, Hurricane, and ZZ Top as well.

Hour 3 – You can never go wrong with anything from the band Scorpion Child, so we start the hour with “Kings Highway” off of their self titled release.  I have another new tune from Alice In Chains in this hour, as well as new music from Screaming Eagles and Monster Truck.  We wind the hour down with Aerosmith and their cover of “Shakey Ground” from the Temptations.  And to finish the show this week we play a little Doors, as we remember Ray Manzarek who passed away recently.
